Senior Specialist - Cost Control

The Role

As the Senior Specialist – Cost Control, you will take a hands-on role in maintaining accurate cost information across CBH’s project portfolio. You will prepare reports, update systems and complete key cost control activities, while providing insights to support project decisions.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare and consolidate project and portfolio cost reports covering actuals, commitments, accruals, approved changes, variances and forecasts.
• Maintain cost registers, control sheets and reporting inputs, following up with project teams to confirm information is accurate and complete.
• Partner with Delivery Teams, Finance and Commercial to resolve data quality issues and provide practical cost insights for decision-making.
• Coordinate project funding appropriations, approved change updates and contract pricing information across cost control systems.
• Process contract variations, progress claims and monthly accruals in CMS and SAP, while completing or supporting relevant assurance checks.

About You:

• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Project Controls, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven expertise in cost control, project controls, project accounting or financial reporting within a complex project environment.
• Sound judgement when providing advice, identifying cost risks and supporting project and portfolio decisions.
• Comfortable balancing analysis and stakeholder engagement with hands-on reporting, system updates and cost control administration.
• Advanced Excel capability, supported by clear communication and a collaborative approach. Experience with SAP, CMS, Power BI or Power Query would be advantageous.
